Werndee offers cottage accommodation in the grounds of a Federation mansion in Mount Stuart, Hobart. Mount Stuart is a five-minute drive from Hobart’s central business district.
The Caretaker's cottage is a sunny s/c retro modern cottage in the grounds of Werndee, an historic Hobart house built in the early 20th century. The cottage sleeps up to three people in a queen bedroom, with a single bed in the spacious livingroom for a third person, and has a fully equipped kitchen.
Wren cottage is a century old baltic lined pet friendly and wheelchair accessible , warm and cosy studio apartment. A luxurious king bed which can be slpit into twin beds and a sunny enclose atrium are highlights of Wren.
Guests are invited to pick their own herbs and fruit from our abundant garden and citrus grove.
Werndee is a short walk to North Hobart restaurants, cafes and bars. You can browse through art galleries or visit the art house State Cinema – Tasmania's oldest operating movie house. Take the five-minute drive into central Hobart, visit the Saturday Salamanca Market, drive to the summit of Mount Wellington or cruise on the Derwent River to MONA our world famous museum and gallery.
Built in 1903 for the first Tasmanian premier, Sir Neil Elliott Lewis, Werndee remained in his family for nearly 50 years and features fine Tasmanian timbers.
