Stanley Hotel & Apartments have a variety of hotel rooms, cottages and apartments to choose from located in the centre of this beautiful fishing village. Park the car and stroll to beaches, cafes, shops and ‘The Nut’.
The Stanley Hotel Bistro was awarded the Australian Hotel Association’s Best Bistro in Australia in 2008, and offers the areas best steaks and fresh seafood. In season try the fresh Lobster (crayfish), scallops, crisp battered fish ‘n’ chips, great local oysters, juicy tender grass fed beef and natural chicken.
Walk or take the Chairlift up ‘The Nut’, the extinct volcanic plug around which the township of Stanley is nestled. Stanley is situated at the end of a peninsular so the sea views are amazing. Walks along the beach become compulsory.
Terraced streets with homes built in the early 1800’s have changed little. Explore the town’s museum and Joseph Lyons Cottage, Australia’s Prime Minister who was born in Stanley. The historic homestead of Highfield, home of the original VDL Governor, is a must to visit.
Observe our local wildlife – take a Seal Cruise from the Stanley wharf, join a Penguin and Platypus tour or visit the Seaquarium.
You can easily make Stanley your base to explore the region. Arthur River, Woolnorth, and the Tarkine Forestry areas are only a little over an hours drive from Stanley.
