Barkala Farmstay is a working Australian farm and also the home of the famous Pilliga Pottery. Camping in our camp ground is a peaceful experience with no traffic noises. You can choose your own location in the camp ground as the sites are unpowered. We offer home cooked delicious meals in our licensed Blue Wren Cafe. Barkala Farmstay is home of Pilliga Pottery and we offer pottery classes, bird watching and bush walks at this magical place. The farm animals are always lots of fun to visit during your stay. Our swimming pool is a great treat in the heat of Summer. In the Winter season you can collect your own fire wood on our property. Camp fires are allowed if the season permits.
Show your children the real country and let them explore the animal pens, gardens and paddocks. Barkala welcomes dogs as well, why should they miss out on the fun?

We are located 10km off the Newell Highway 35km north of Coonabarabran. The name of the road for the turn off from the Newell Hwy is Boramitty Road.
If you are travelling south from Narrabri, you will need to travel approx. 100km south along the Newell Highway until you see the sign for Pilliga Pottery/Barkala Farmstay, follow the signs from there.
If you are travelling north from Coonabarabran, you will need to travel approx. 5km towards Gunnedah taking the Newell Hwy towards Narrabri for approx. 20km, here you will find a sign for Pilliga Pottery/Barkala Farmstay, follow the signs from there.
Using your GPS in not recommended because it will direct you down a No Through Road which is not accessible to Pilliga Pottery/Barkala Farmstay.
