The Racecourse Inn is the perfect base for touring Northern Tasmania; only 15 minutes from Launceston airport, 20 minutes from the centre of Launceston and one hour from the Spirit of Tasmania terminal in Devonport.
Our five en-suite guest rooms have been individually furnished with period antiques with our guests' comfort in mind. Upstairs are three delightful attic rooms with dormer windows and sloping timber-lined ceilings, and downstairs are two generous bedrooms, including a spacious heritage suite with a king-sized bed, open fireplace and double spa.
Your accommodation package includes a full cooked and continental breakfast featuring tasty locally sourced Tasmanian ingredients, many of them home-grown and hand picked daily from our kitchen garden and orchard, with eggs provided by our flock of pedigree chickens. We have a licensed guest lounge in our guest dining room with a library of books and DVDs, and compliementary newspapers.
Our beautiful Georgiann era accommodation is only minutes away from historic Longford’s main tourist attractions, including World Heritage listed Brickendon and Woolmers Estates, home to the National Rose Garden, and at the start of Tasmania’s Heritage Highway. Longford features many beautiful Georgian buildings.
We’re also only a short drive from the Northern Tasmanian wine route and some of the best fly fishing lakes and streams in Australia, including Brumby’s Creek, The Macquarie and South Esk Rivers.
Our guest entry and off street car park entry is from Bulwer Street. Please drive through the first gap in the hedge, and ring the doorbell at the Bulwer Street entrance. Please ring both door chimes on arrival (these ring in different parts of the house). For queries please ring Annabelle on 0409 886 350.
